Onshape Resources - Learning Course, FeatureScripts, and More
Team 4788 switched to Onshape from AutoDesk Inventor before the 2025 REEFSCAPE Season. Since then we have been building up resources to improve the learning and design processes.
Learning Course
We found the FRCDesign.org learning course a great resource for learning CAD, but the use of imperial measurements made it far less applicable for our team. Over the 2025-2026 preseason we began the mammoth task of adapting FRCDesign.org to metric. It is still a work in progress, but the course can be accessed at learn.team4788.com. We plan to add additional resources to this site in the future, such as a programming guide.
FeatureScripts
Over the preseason, we also developed some FeatureScripts to automate parts of our design process. These include:
Wire Channel - On the billet drive bases we built in 2025, we used channels cut into the underside of the drive base to route wires neatly. This FeatureScript automates the channel creation process.

Tube Converter - Based off the Tube Converter from Julia's FeatureScripts, this script serves a similar purpose of creating tubes with hole patterns, but simplifies the interface, makes it better suited for metric tubes, and adds a preset for WARES tube.

Spacer - This FeatureScript can create spacers for 1/2" hex shaft, 3/8" hex shaft, round shaft, or 8 mm keyed shafts, with options to engrave the spacer length. It is similar to the one in Julia's FeatureScripts but creates different style spacers and is better suited for metric.

The FeatureScripts can be found here. We plan to continue adding to them in the future.
Part Library
Over the 2025 season and 2026 preseason we have also been putting together a part library, consisting of evergreen custom parts and configurable pulleys, fasteners, bearings and spacers. It also contains uploaded WARES parts and parts from other vendors not on MkCAD.
The part library can be accessed here. It will continue to be updated in the future.
